Brother Glenn Matherne has met with the St. Eloi Church finance committee and has gotten approval to open an account with Caros. This account is to be used in case of an emergency need to supply meals for victoms of flood, Hurricane any other disaster that should befall our community or one of our neighbors. Our C.E.R.T. team stands ready to react to the needs of our community or that of one of our neighboring communities in the event of an emergency.

Community Emergency Response Team (C.E.R.T.)
MISSION STATEMENT
We strive to be ever ready to come to the aid of our neighbors in the time of emergency. Our primary goal is to provide Evacuation assistance, Preparedness education, Food, Water, Emergency supplies, First Aid supplies, Religious and Moral support to our community and our neighboring communities in their time of need.
1. Help State and Parish officials with evacuation education and evacuation plans.
A. Assist with actual evacuation of citizens, when evacuation is called for by officials. Help other agencies with the evacuation of the sick and infirm at the notification of a Storm warning.
2. Give seminars at schools and other local clubs and organizations on Personal and family preparedness. Help distribute education materials and help manuals provided by FEMA and other State and Federal agencies.
3. Be ready to supply food, water, and other first aid and needed emergency supplies immediately after a disaster ( Hurricane, Tropical or severe thunder storm Terrorist attack, Fire, Explosion, Chemical spill or other disaster. )
A. We will contact local vendors and stores and make arrangements to procure through donation or purchase on account, the needed food water and emergency supplies to feed and assist our communities.
B. We will have ready the cooking burners, full propane gas tanks , pots pans and utensils to prepare meals when needed.
C. We will prepare meals at the KC Home, the Fire Stations, Schools or in parking lots as needed to feed those in need.
D. We will maintain a crew of cooks and helpers with equipment at the ready for any community disaster.
C. We will continue to feed and render aid to those stricken for as long as there is a need and supplies hold out.
